Description:

SH2-115 is a visibla emission nebula in the constellation of Cygnus close to the bright star Deneb in a distance of about 7500 light-years.
It has an oval shape and an enormous extent and is crossed by a dark band from Northwest to Southeast. In the eastern part the small open cluster Berkeley 90  is located whose bright stars stimulate the nebula to glow. The object in the lower right part of the pic is catalogized as planetary nebula Abell 71, meanwhile it is known that this is not a planetary nebula but a dense H-alpha structure inside SH2-115.
